You’ve Left Me Here (With Nothing But All This Nothing)

When movies feel like ads for forthcoming attractions that never arrive

And ads look like films with nothing to say but ‘I’m here’

I realise you’ve left me with nothing but all this nothing

So… what have you got to say for yourself?

Nothing?
Nothing at all

When Love is sold like shop made pre-packaged sandwiches

Ready in an instant and filling no hole but a mealy mouth or two

I realise you’ve left me with nothing but all this nothing

So… now what’s in your mind?

Nothing?
Nothing at all

When God is defined by science: a not so clever cul-de-sac trap

With religiosity dressing up and talking down to those who trust too easily

I realise you’ve left me with nothing but all this nothing

So… what have I learnt from you?

Nothing
Nothing is all
And that’s enough

  1. that is enough!…well nothing lost is nothing gained…and nothing leaves you empty for something fulfilling instead! Good luck!
